Hello, Iām Sharon!
I am the owner and creator of Clockwork Traveler. I create my jewelry out of decommissioned antique pocket watches, wristwatches and clocks to create unique pieces of wearable art.
I started creating my jewelry as a hobby in 2011 when I opened up an Elgin pocket watch from the early 1900s. I saw the detailed engravings (damaskeening) and was blown away by how beautiful the backs of the watches were! It made me want to create jewelry that highlighted the beauty found inside the watches that are typically not seen.
I try to stay as true to the original piece as possible; I do not add embellishments as I think the watches are beautiful by themselves. I also preserve the dials on the watches so most of my necklaces are reversible!
My business officially launched in 2021. Like many others, I had time during the pandemic to really think about what direction I wanted to go in my career. I grew up in Maryland and loved going to the Maryland Renaissance every year and always dreamed of owning a shop there!
I took a chance and applied to the Maryland and Colorado Renaissance Festival! I was accepted into the Colorado Renaissance Festival immediately and It was a huge success! I now sell my jewelry full time at the Colorado Renaissance Festival, Maryland Renaissance Festival, Texas Renaissance Festival, and local craft shows in Boulder and Denver!
